Statement Of Faith

1. We believe that the Scriptures of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are our ultimate and supreme authority for life and godliness. (2 Timothy 3:16-17,        2 Peter 1:19-21, Hebrews 4:12)

2. We believe that the Word of God is complete, unchanging, and perfect, and is without error in the original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

3. We believe in the One Eternal, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent God that exists in the Godhead of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Exodus 20:2-3; Isaiah 45:5-6; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4)

4. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten of God the Father and that He was born of the virgin Mary. He is the only one who is perfect and without sin, and He is completely God and completely man. (John 20:10)

5. We believe that all men are sinners both by birth and by nature and that the penalty for sin is death – eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire. (Romans 3:23)

6. We believe that God sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die on the cross as the only perfect sacrifice sufficient to pay the sin debt of mankind. (John 3:16)

7. We believe that Jesus Christ conquered sin, death, and the tomb through His literal physical resurrection, and that He lives today and forevermore. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

8. We believe that salvation from sin is a gift from God, offered by grace (the unmerited favor of God), through faith in Jesus Christ alone and His complete and perfect work on the cross. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

9. We believe that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit baptizes, seals, and indwells the believer, making him a permanent member of the family of God and His son forever. (John 1:12)

10. We believe that as a son of God, the responsibility of each true believer is to live a life that is holy, pure, and separated from sin and from the world. (Romans 12:2)

11. We believe that one day Jesus Christ will return for His own, the church. Until that day arrives, the purpose of each believer is to honor and glorify God in all he says and does. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

12. We believe that God created the heavens and the earth by His spoken word and that nothing apart from God existed before the creation. We also believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal 24-hour days and that on the seventh day God rested, in accordance with the narrative of Genesis 1:1-2:3. We reject completely the theory of the evolution of mankind in every form.

13. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between God and man. (Matthew 28:1-9;       1 Corinthians 15:3-9; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 John 2:2; 1 Timothy 2:5)

14. We believe that the Holy Spirit baptizes, seals, and indwells each and every true believer from the moment of his/her salvation on, equipping the believer to live in holiness. We also believe that the Holy Spirit grants spiritual gifts to each believer, according to His will, for the edification of the Body of Christ, which is the church. We believe that upon the completion of the New Testament book of Revelation and the death of the apostle John, the apostolic era came to a close and with it the necessity for the spiritual gifts of signs, wonders, miracles, and new prophetic revelation. The fact that we now have the complete revelation of God in the sixty-six books of the Bible indicates that the function of these sign gifts has been terminated – tongues, the interpretation of tongues, the prophesying of new revelation, and the performing of miracles (Ephesians 1:13; 4:11-20, 30; 5:18; Romans 8:9; 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Hebrews 2:3-4; 1 Corinthians 13:8-13).

15. We believe in the eternal security of the believer and that it is impossible for one who is truly born into the family of God to lose their salvation. (John 6:39; 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; Hebrews 7:25; Jude 1)

16. We believe in the rapture of the church, which is the return in the air of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all those who are in Christ, both dead and alive. We believe that this will be pre-millennial – before the millennial reign of Christ on the earth (Revelation 20:1-5); pre-tribulation – before the great tribulation (Matthew 24:14-21); and that it is imminent – it can happen at any moment (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2).

17. We believe in the physical, bodily resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust – the just to eternal life in the presence of the Lord, and the unjust to eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire (Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 16:19-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:12-15; 21:1-8).

18. We believe that the New Testament church still exists today and consists of all true believers. The church exists in two forms: the universal church and the local church. The universal church is the body of all true believers, both those alive now and those who died since the New Testament dispensation. The local church is the body of believers (alive) situated in a specific location. Further, we believe that the local church should be independent, autonomous and united in one purpose. Further, we believe that there are two offices instituted by God for the local church: elders and deacons (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-48; 6:1-3; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23;       1 Timothy 3; Titus 1:5-11; 1 Peter 5:1-4).

19. We believe that there are two ordinances that are to be observed by the church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion should take place after conversion and is a public testimony of the believer’s faith in Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior. The Lord’s Supper is to be observed by true believers only and is a memorial of Christ, announcing His death until His return (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; 8:26, 39; 16:31-33; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; Colossians 2:12).

20. We believe that the church exists for the glory of God, for the edification of the saints, and to carry out the Great Commission (1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 4:11-12; Matthew 28:18-20).
