Our Theology

Biblical A.  Biblical Separation

It is the position of this church that its members practice biblical separation, both personally and ecclesiastically. The purpose of this doctrine is to maintain the holiness and purity of God, to guard the truth of His Word, and to continue moving forward in spiritual growth and personal holiness. There are two forms of biblical separation:

  1. Ecclesiastical Separation: This is separation from other churches and organizations that do not hold to a correct biblical doctrine or theology. We will not unite together in purpose with such organizations or churches.

  2. Personal Separation: This is the personal practice of separation from the world, from sin, and from professing believers who willingly participate in and habitually practice sin.

B. Pragmatism

Pragmatism is the philosophy that operates according to the end justifies the means model.  Thus to act pragmatically would be to do whatever is necessary to see that the desired goal is accomplished. Thus to be pragmatic is to do what must be done to obtain the desired results. The position of this church is just the opposite. For the believer, the end result desired should be the determining factor in how we arrive there because the methods we use are important to our Holy God. Therefore, this church will not participate in or employ a pragmatic methodology. (1 Chronicles 13:7-10)

C. The Charismatic Movement

The position of this church is to reject the charismatic movement in all its forms: worldly music, confused and scandalous worship, the seeking out of experiential gifts of signs and wonders, modern day prophets, new prophetic utterances and revelations, etc. We will practice ecclesiastical separation from this movement.

D. Marriage and Divorce

It is the position of this church that biblical marriage, as instituted by God, is the union by Him of one man and one woman for a lifetime. This church will never recognize the union of two men or two women for God condemns this in Scripture as the sin of homosexuality. Regarding divorce, the Bible states only two acceptable reasons, adultery or the abandonment of a believing spouse by an unbelieving spouse. Nevertheless, in both cases, reconciliation is to be encouraged.

E. Music

The position of this church is to maintain a high standard in the area of our music. We will not use worldly music genres in our worship of the Lord. Music must be balanced in its melody, harmony, and rhythm and the words must be theologically sound in their message. Also, the person ministering in song ought to reflect the image of Christ in their lifestyle, maintaining a good public testimony before all men.
